WELCOME
12.21.07 and we're back.
My dear beloved TPR members, new and old.
TPR II is going to be better than ever, our dear TPR I finished with a spectacular 116members.
Let's see how far we can get this time, so stay active, advertise and don't forget to have fun!
Guide Lines The rules, yes they can be a pest. But they’re necessary, we prefer to refer to them as ‘guides’ it sounds less cruel. So you might like to read up in these because if you break them the ‘I forgot’ isn’t going to save your life. Also in here we have nifty little sub-boards that have actual guides. Moderator: Whinnay

Profiles Yes you must have a profile/biography. Humans and tame/wild horses are allowed, and also before you begin role playing make sure you have a profile for the character you are wishing to play. You don’t have to wait to be accepted, if there is something wrong with your profile I’ll PM you and also leave a note in your biography.

The Stable The stables house many of HARPP’s horses; eight large stalls all with fresh shavings for bedding. When you first enter the barn on your left is the feed shed, bales of hay piled high to the ceiling, the dogs straggle around here, this is where the beds are set up and the bad ones get chained. On your right hand side is the tack room, which is kept very well organised, each horse has its own little area, there is a place to keep the saddle, bridle, rugs, saddle blankets and grooming equipment. The tack room is very spacious even though it has so many different saddles and tack. There is a sweet smell of molasses and horses in the air; people spend hours just standing, talking, grooming and petting their horses.

Paddocks Here the tame horses find true serenity, there are acres and acres of lush rolling hills for the equines to wander about. You can request for a private paddock if you feel there is a need. On each paddock gate there is a list of information about the horses that roam in the paddock. It provides you with their name, breed, color, height, gender and their diet. This is so everything is organised.

Riding Arenas The riding arenas are really the secret to the ranch’s success; with out the riding arenas they’d be lost. There are three arenas all up and a cross-country paddock. The show jumping arena is a large outdoor arena, 60 by 40 metres, the dressage arena is a large outdoor arena, 60 by 20 metres and the lesson arena is a large indoor arena, 60 by 40 metres. Each arena has 12 letters, white sand litters the ground. The lesson arena has 6 small cavaletties, this arena is mainly used for beginner riders and green horses, also for warming up your horse. The jumping arena has 16 brightly colored jumps, varying from verticals to crosses, oxers to doubles and so on so forth. The dressage arena is simply lovely, the sand is raked flat each morning as to ensure absolute balance and perfect footing which is a pure bonus. The cross-country arena covers 8acres of rolling pasture. The jump heights vary immensely.

Roundyard The round yard is quite small compared to the rest of the land here at three ponies ranch, it is 20 metres (65ft) in diameter. People bring horses here to lunge them, round yards are highly used around here, and lucky for everyone they just got another four put in. Four of them are used for training young horses, people often leave the horses in there for hours with tack on, just to get the horses used to the feel of something on their back and clinging to their belly. The other round yard is used for lunging.

Wash The wash has the benefit of using either warm or cold water to wash your horse in. The concrete floor is on a slight angle so all the water runs into the drain, the wooden fences ensure that your horse can not get away so easily. There is hay band to tie your horse to while you wish him. Many tend to spend hours here before competitions, grooming, washing and prettying their horses up before they head out to the shows. Others just take two minutes to wash the sweat off of their hard worked horses. With out the use of the wash people would spend three hours brushing the sweat out of their horses and sponging them down. The wash is a much more efficient way of doing things and it gets horses used to the hose, the wash is located just behind the barn out of the chilly wind.

dormitories
Girls Dormitories All the girls are housed here; there are two bunk beds in each dorm. So four people to each dormitory, there is a large wardrobe separated into four sections, there are also four dressers with massive drawers. There is a wide-open window in each one as well; also there are hooks on the wall for the girls to hang up their helmets, crops and chaps. Everything is kept well organized and each bunk room is practically identical.

trails
Kariana Lake The grassy field is quite peculiar. It has a long straight level track leading to it, the horses have to push through a lot of shrubbery as the hedges are becoming overgrown, but nobody wants to trim them because that is part of the fun of coming to Kariana Lake. In the field is a dam and a tree, just a single oak tree in the middle of the field. Not many wander into the dam for apparently snakes call it home and anyway there is so much moss and it is extremely slippery. The water is black and you cannot see the footing below. This place is ideal for playing games and holding races, people and horses spend many hours playing tiggy on horse back in the sunny afternoons. A fun way to forget that you’re here for all the wrong reasons.

Wild Plains These wild plains are home to many wild horses; it feels much like a desert out here. There are hardly any trees, just a few dead shrubs. The ground is parched and cracked so badly that some days it feels like it is going to give way. A river runs through the land branching out into a dam. On hot days people like to ride their horses down here bareback and wade into the water. Most of the year it is full despite the fact that it is unbearably hot out here. The wild horses are lured down here, no one knows why but it is something about the scenery that they just love. Will you be able to capture one of these free equines?

Sloping Trails Possibly the most picturesque place of all the trails, the sparse woodlands are home to many creatures. Horses quite often get spooked when riding out, but the air is calm and it is such a relaxing place. A narrow dirt trail branches off in many directions, you quite often find that you never follow the same one path. It is quite easy to be lost; at the moment they are in process of putting up signs to lead you in the right direction. The trail slopes up and down and winds right and left, at some parts you find yourself riding along the cliff face which is pretty daunting. But one usually feels truly at ease riding on the sloping trails.

Oval All those athletic and sporty like to come here for a good run, a game of soccer, cricket, football, and rugby… those types of sports. Then there are other people, who come just to sit down and watch people exercising, perhaps they like the competitive tension that hangs around here everywhere? Who knows, but the oval is a good way to do physical education away from the horses. Anyway as a lot of people say, the four main traits for horse riders are, fitness, flexibility, balance and attitude.

Quadrangle The quadrangle is pretty much just the ‘chill out’ place. It is a wide-open courtyard with tables and chairs; the garden beds are full of pretty, brightly colored flowers with such sweet fragrances. Bands will perform here, and people often come here to eat their lunch and dinner on summer nights. The wooden tables and chairs have just recently been re-painted to a dark natural brown, so now when you’re eating you’re not staring at tables covered with bird poo. The sun shines down brightly and one can feel at ease here, despite all the people chatting noisily.

Library The library is a good place to come on those cold winter lunch times. It is apparently the ‘nerdy’ place to hang out, but there is truly nothing wrong with going to the library. You get free use on the computers, which the Internet actually runs smoothly and fast, which is better than all the usual school computers. People are allowed to send e-mails to loved ones and chat to people on myspace, which is what most people use it for. But those really interested in horse riding will download dressage tests off the computer to practice in their next lesson and they’ll spend time reading up on horse facts, you’ll be surprised at how many people actually do that.

Auctions Horses meander everywhere, dust flying in your face, nothing quite like the feeling of being at an auction. Horse floats coming and going, equines of every colour and temperament, begging to be bought by you. Unfortunately quite a lot of cruelty happens here. There are keepers trying to prevent it but there’s only three keepers and over 70people coming each day. But if you look hard you just might find yourself a bargain.

Beach The beach, come here for a swim in the boiling hot weather, or if you can get up before the crack of dawn you can float your horse and work it through the water, just make sure you stay on the flat sand otherwise they can tear ligaments and tendons. The water is good for their muscles it soothes them, just remember riding times are from 4am until 9am, make sure you buy a permit as well because if the ranger catches you without a permit, a hefty fine will be heading your way.

HARPP'S Foster House An emotional place, the foster house is for all neglected, abused horses. HARPP, (horse and rider protection program) needs many volunteers. Many people are out searching for the abused horses, or taking calls trying determinedly to rescue the equines. Once the staff are assured that the horses are recovering they are open for adoption, but only to good homes were they will be well loved and taken care for. So perhaps one of these neglected horses will be the new lovable family pet with a lot of training.
